19.03.2020 - Dealing with the Corona Virus at the ALU Freiburg

Due to the increase in identified cases of coronavirus worldwide and to avoid further spread, please note the following informations on how Freiburg University decided to deal with the current situation concerning the Corona Virus (SARS-CoV-2).

  • With immediate effect, in order to protect students and employees and to contain corona infections, all courses that are not conducted digitally will be cancelled for the period up to April 19, 2020.

  • The in-person university examinations will be cancelled for the time being up to and including April 19, 2020. Students do not have to submit an application to withdraw from the examination for these in-person examinations cancelled by the University.

  • Also the University of Freiburg has decided to close the University Library for the time being until the responsible health authorities have assessed the situation. The subject libraries will also remain closed for the time being. The obligation to return borrowed media will not apply during the period of closure.

  • All deadlines for final theses and seminar papers are extended by the duration of the library’s closure, i.e. by five weeks according to current information.

  • If you suspect to have been in contact with an infected person or if you have a confirmed Corona infection, please inform your coordinator via e-mail or by phone about the situation.

Apart from this, the ERASMUS+ exchange continues in the usual way. We encourage our students to finish their stay as planned. If students want to cancel or intermit their stay, they are asked to contact our team immediately as well as their home university.

In order to avoid further infections we, the international office of the faculty of law, can only be reached by email at the moment. We will continue to do our best to process your inquiries as soon as possible. Nevertheless, since our main concern is your health and well-being, you are always welcome to contact us via email.
