The guest speaker for the first meeting of the study group was Ms. Anna-Bettina Kaiser LL.M., who gave an account of her teaching occupation and her stay at the Chinese University for Politics and Law (CUPL).

April 24th of 2007 was the date of the first meeting of the study group on Chinese and German law. To this end, a group of around 40 interested professors, student assistants and students of Chinese and German origin met in the gallery of the Café Mehlwaage.

Ms. Anna-Bettina Kaiser LL.M. gave an account of her teaching occupation and her stay in general at the Chinese University for Politics and Law (CUPL). She made particular mention of the friendly reception and day-to-day support she received there, and spoke about Chinese culture and life-style. She was especially impressed by the interest of her Chinese students, as well as, their skills in the fields of German language and law.

The evening ended in comfortable conversation accompanied by beer and wine. Some telephone and e-mail addresses were also exchanged to keep up the contacts forged between Chinese and German students. This shall also remain one of the main goals of future session of the Chinese-German legal study group.
